When I think about this year, not many things come to mind. Besides some trips and definitely more cycling, running, and hiking, the highlight was probably my parents’ visit and spending a few weeks together. That was fun!
Nothing has changed about my dreams: peace for Ukraine is all I want for the coming year.
- Cycling: 121 hours and 2,254 km
- Running: 53 hours and 529 km. At the end of the year made a few personal records, like longest distance 13km, fastest 5K, etc
- Spotify: More than 17 days of listening to 3,522 songs and 1,313 artists
- Podcasts: Listened to 160 podcasts, which took more than 8 days of continuous listening
- Podcast of the Year: Podcast Historychny
- Series of the Year: Dark Matter – Not as good as the book, but as a fan of Blake Crouch, I can’t resist recommending it.
- Audiobook of the Year: The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. Unfortunately, this book isn’t part of school curricula. I can easily imagine how such a simple but powerful idea could significantly improve or even save relationships.
- Book of the Year: Start with WHY by Simon Sinek
- Music of the Year: Karnivool
- Game of the Year: I quit chess. I realised how much effort it takes to master and decided it’s not worth it.
- Service of the Year: Perplexity
- Mobile/Desktop Apps: Apparently nothing new to add in this category. Everything I use, I’ve been using for at least a year.
- Device of the Year: Garmin Venu 3 – I spent some time researching the current state of the smartwatch landscape, and to me, the Venu 3 seems to offer the best combination of battery life, sports, and smartwatch features for this price. Totally worth it.
- Event of the Year: At least a few come to mind. First of all, a few weeks spent with my parents. Also, we were lucky enough to attend a Karnivool concert. Considering how rare it is to catch this Australian band in Europe, I’m glad we drove 1,000 km to see them. Totally worth it.
- Achievement of the Year: Completing a course in Business English at UAM University
- Experience of the Year: Swimming in a winter lake. I’ve been experimenting with cold exposure for a while, and this is one of my most exciting discoveries. So far, winter hasn’t been very cold – usually around 2-5 degrees Celsius – but the feelings are incredibly exciting.
- Travel Gems of the Year: A bicycle ride along the Baltic Sea
