Karnivool as a celebration of perfection

In the modern world, perfection is becoming rare. We live in an age of resources optimization, financial efficiency, visibility, and constant presence in media: more content and releases, faster production, endless TikToks, Instagram posts, YouTube videos, and carefully maintained public personas. To disappear today usually means to be forgotten.

But this is a story about something different.

This is a story about a band that almost vanished for thirteen years — and still remained alive in the minds of those who had truly listened. No constant stream of updates. No endless self-promotion. No desperate attempt to stay relevant. And then, after years of silence, the world heard their latest album.

It is hard to say what made this possible. Was it isolation? The conditions of life in a remote place? A particular discipline, philosophy, or simply an uncompromising obsession with sound? Maybe it is impossible to define. But the result feels almost precious in today’s world: art created not for speed, not for attention, not for algorithms — but for perfection.

And perfection is not easy.

To understand this band is not a quick experience. It is a long walk. Before The Turning Wheel becomes your favorite album, before this music fully opens itself to you, it may take hundreds of hours of listening. You begin to notice hidden details, new emotional layers, strange connections, and personal interpretations that slowly become your own extraction of pure art.

But if you take that road, it pays you back. This music gives you something to carry in your mind and soul, something that can lift you, protect you, and stay with you. To make their path into this music a little easier, I created this book. It’s written mostly for friends and family: a personal attempt to introduce them to this music and make its beautiful complexity easier to digest. Hopefully, it may also help you to start a journey in this beautiful world of Karnivool.

The book is based on open information, interviews, and publicly available materials about the band. I tried to stay close to the facts, while also acknowledging that around this band there is another layer: fan interpretations, myths, rumors, and unanswered questions. Together, they form part of the mystery, and part of the beauty. If you would like check it out, the link is here.

And for everyone who isn’t familiar with this music yet, I’ll leave this video here:
